For a cool A$157m, Australian mining services company Ausdrill has been awarded a contract to provide additional mining work at Perseus Mining’s Edikan gold mine in Ghana.

Over a 42-month period, work will be carried out by Ausdrill’s wholly owned contact mining African Mining Services. Work will include drilling, blasting, as well as load and haulage operations.

The contract will also create jobs for up to 280 people.

“The award of this contract clearly demonstrates the capability of AMS to continue to deliver quality and cost effective mining services to our clients,” said Ausdrill MD Ron Sayers.

Operations on the mine have been scheduled to begin in September 2016.
