MINExpo 2016 is just around the corner, and more and more tantalising details are being revealed from exhibitors, making all of us who unfortunately cannot attend smile through gritted teeth.

Mining technology giant Caterpillar will be debuting its newest large mining truck, the 794 AC. Following extensive field testing, the new truck currently operates in four countries – ranging from deep pit copper in western USA to coal and copper in South America.

The truck has been praised for its fast speed on grade the braking and retarding system from operators, while its simplicity and ample access for servicing tasks has also been praised.

With its Cat C175-16 engine and proven Cat AC power train, and its High Efficiency Body – designed to meet the specific needs of the mine (dictated by fragmentation, abrasion, cohesion and the loading tool) the truck is designed and built to minimise operating costs from top to bottom.

So, if you see this behemoth at MINExpo 2016, be sure to speak with a Caterpillar representative – though I’m sure test drives are out of the question.

For more information about the 794 AC, see Caterpillar at MINExpo 2016, contact the regional Cat dealer or go to: www.cat.com/mining
